Library users with overdue materials are sent 3 notices via automatic email. A final billing notice is sent by automatic email to your Bethel email address. If materials are not returned after this billing notice, they are then BILLED with an attached fine. Books, Videos, MusicFor items that are not returned or are lost, the fines are a minimum of $65 for each book, cd, or audio book, and are a minimum of $115 for each video or DVD. ReferenceFines are assessed daily at $1 per day. Reference fines will not be waived. Reserves
Fines are assessed hourly at $.25 per hour. Reserve fines will not be
waived. Items that are lost or not returned will be billed to the user's Bethel account
through the Business Office at the rates listed above under "Books, Videos, Music." Laptops/Other Equipment Laptops have a 3 hour maximum check out period. They are fined $20 per hour after the 3 hour period has expired. The replacement fee for a lost or damaged laptop is up to $2,400. An additional processing fee may be charged as well. All charges that are accrued as a result of violations of these policies and procedures will be sent to the University Business Office and will prevent a student from registering for classes for the next term if not paid.
